Xspf Jukebox Playlist Creator (Windows)

Categories: Flash, XSPF.

This post marks my first useful program for the Windows platform (besides Blackjack of course). The Xspf Jukebox Playlist Creator, as the name states, is  used to create and edit Xspf and Xml playlist files for use with the Xspf Jukebox. Files are automatically parsed and labeled using their id3 tag info, both version 1 and 2 are supported. Images are also added automatically to the best fitting song, if the image name matches a songs Creator, Title, or Filename. The Creator supports both importing and exporting of playlist files. Feel free to leave any comments, suggestions, or criticisms. In the works is a Cocoa version for Mac OSX, and a Skin Creator to allow anyone to create visually appealing skins for the player.Updates for both the Xspf Jukebox and Gallery are coming soon. This project is no longer supported.

Could you describe the problem a little more? What version of Windows are you using? Does the program start up at all or does the error message show automatically?

I’m using XP SP2. Before anything happens a window pops up that says “The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate application.” and when you press “Ok” it quits. It shows automatically.

I need to look into that, make sure you have the newest .NET framework from Microsoft, I have tested on multiple computers (XP Sp2) and it always has worked without a hitch.

hmm.. how do i create a playlist containing all of my mp3’s from different folders.
i.egc i got the xspf jukebox in the root, and all the subfolders containing the mp3s in them.

how do i use your playlist generator to generate a playlist so that i dont have to store all mp3’s in the same folder to be able to play them.

Excellent! I’ve been looking for a half hour for a tool that does just this, and this is the only one! Thanks a lot. worked fantastic.

I have to use absolute file paths for the images and i’m not sure why.

Also when importing a saved playlist that used absolute paths for the images, the paths are rewritten to filename only.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

This looks like a real gem… but the download link seems to be broken… any chance you could point me in the right direction/ email me a zip file? Yours is the only decent looking xspf playlist creator I can find - would love to try it out! Thanks :)
